The members of The Chichester City Club support local charities each year and last year they chose Selsey Lifeboat & the MND Association WSS.
Out of the blue we had a phone call from Tony Booker from The Chichester City Club to tell us they had raised £840 for MNDA. Each year members of the club have a ballot on the charity they choose and MNDA was chosen by Tony who lost his partner Moragh Hutson to MND in 2012. Moragh’s AV was Mrs Richardson who helped her enormously and organised for her to have a stairlift fitted, funded by MNDA.
The club is situated in the heart of Chichester and was opened by The Dean of Chichester Cathedral Dr Walter Hook in 1863 as a social club for the workmen engaged in rebuilding the spire of Chichester Cathedral. The Club in its present form is a Members Club and they have in-house entertainment and many activities taking place throughout the week.
