What a fantastic day we had at Broadwater Green in Worthing for the second MNDA West Sussex South Branch Family Fun Day on 9th July 2023.
Thank you to Tim Loughton MP (East Worthing & Shoreham) who opened the day for us and Cllr Joe Pannell, Chair of Adur District Council, who did a sterling job judging the very busy dog show!
With lots of very happy stallholders, families and their furry family members it was a great day.
The weather couldn’t have been better, staying dry but not getting too hot.
There was plenty of hot food, drinks, coffee, cup cakes and brownies, candyfloss, ice cream, a bar, sweets, toys, bouncy castle and games for the children.
Lots of stalls offered things for the home, scented candles, crystals, jewellery, skin care, animal cushions, an opportunity to have a pet portrait, dog food and treats.
We were entertained on the day by The Rude Mechanicals and Singers Rechoired. Both groups have a personal interest in MND and on behalf of the Committee we’d like to thank them very much for giving their time.
Southern Classics arranged a great show of classic cars, vintage fire engines and military vehicles and they certinaly drew the crowd. If you were at the event you couldn’t have missed the model remote control tanks that were roaming the Green that had been brought along by the Southeast Tanks Scale Model Club, the children were mesmerised!
We would also like to say a big thank you to Michael Jones Estate & Letting Agents in Worthing. They are a local friendly high-street agent and one of the largest estate agents in the South East and they very kindly sponsored our signs that were put up around the Green advertising the day.
Also, big thanks go to our supporters and contributors; Southwick Print and Advanced Seating Solutions and to MNDA East Sussex who kindly lent us their gazebos.
Finally, thank you to Babs from Kismet Training & Consultancy, who came along with her adapted trailer equipped with everything first aid.
Last but not least, big thanks go to all our Committee and their families and friends who helped pull the whole day together.
